Picture News

The joint naval Drill “Red Wave/8” concluded today, Thursday, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the Royal Jordanian Navy Command, alongside the naval forces of the Red Sea littoral states.

During the closing ceremony, the Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces emphasized the importance of the security and stability of the Red Sea, given its vital strategic location and its role in securing and protecting maritime lines of communication, which directly impacts the national security of the coastal states as well as regional and international stability. He noted that the Drill aims to enhance joint military cooperation, raise combat readiness, and strengthen coordination in responding to maritime threats.

The activities of the Drill, conducted at the headquarters of the Western Fleet in Jeddah, included amphibious landing operations, securing and protecting maritime passages, ship inspection, counter-piracy operations, search and inspection missions, and dealing with explosives and naval mines. The Drill featured participation from ships, boats, marine infantry, combat divers, and several special naval units from the participating countries, in addition to aircraft from the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.

It is worth noting that “Red Wave/8” began earlier this week with the participation of Jordan, as well as the naval forces of Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, Yemen, Somalia, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
