The Southern Military Region thwarted, at dawn on Thursday, an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics using a drone on its western front within its area of responsibility.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. Rules of engagement were applied after the drone was detected by border guard forces, and it was brought down inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities.
