The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, met on Sunday at the General Headquarters with the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and the accompanying delegation.

An official reception ceremony was held for the guest, during which a guard of honor lined up and was reviewed.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance joint military cooperation and coordination, and to exchange expertise in the fields of training and capability development, contributing to improving the efficiency of the armed forces in both brotherly countries.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the visiting delegation were also briefed on key aspects of the modernization and development program within the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, as well as the main challenges posed by the regional environment.

Major General Al-Hunaiti and Field Marshal Haftar signed a joint cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral coordination, expanding military training, and exchanging expertise and knowledge, within the framework of cooperation programs implemented by the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army with a number of brotherly and friendly armies.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff stressed the importance of enhancing joint military cooperation in a way that serves strategic interests and contributes to supporting security and stability at the regional level.

For his part, Field Marshal Haftar praised the level of cooperation between the two sides, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and the exchange of military expertise.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, as well as the Libyan Military Attaché in Amman.
