Army Chief Visits Special Communications Directorate

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, visited on Tuesday the Special Communications Directorate, where he was received by its Director General.

Maj. Gen. Al-Hunaiti was briefed by the Director General on the directorate’s assigned duties and responsibilities, the level of development achieved in the field of communications, ongoing projects and systems, as well as future plans for modernization and development in line with current and future requirements.

In the presence of a number of senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff emphasized the importance of developing military communications infrastructure and enhancing readiness, in a way that strengthens the Armed Forces’ ability to carry out their duties with high efficiency. He also highlighted the need to continue training and qualifying personnel on the latest systems to ensure rapid response and effectiveness under various conditions.

Major General Al-Hunaiti toured various departments and divisions of the directorate, reviewing the nature of its operations and the electronic services it provides to a number of governmental and private entities. He also visited an exhibition showcasing modern communications equipment and devices featuring advanced technologies that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of communications systems and supporting mission execution with professionalism.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff commended the efforts of the personnel of the Special Communications Directorate, stressing the importance of developing capabilities and benefiting from international expertise to enhance communications protection measures and ensure the readiness of the Armed Forces at all times.

It is worth noting that since its establishment in 1975, the Special Communications Directorate has been responsible for planning, designing, establishing, managing, and maintaining military communications networks, as well as providing communication services to various formations and units of the Armed Forces, in addition to supporting a number of security agencies and national institutions, contributing to enhancing readiness and strengthening the efficiency of the national communications system.
