The Eastern Military Region thwarted at dawn on Wednesday a drug smuggling attempt along its front, involving a large quantity of narcotics carried by electronically guided balloons.

Border Guard units, through surveillance and monitoring, detected the balloons and dealt with them, bringing down their payloads inside Jordanian territory in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
