Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, the Army Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, paid a visit to the Eastern Military Region Command on Sunday. Al-Hunaiti received a military briefing from the commander of the area regarding the responsibilities and tasks allocated to it, the state of operations, training, and logistical issues there, as well as plans. The Army Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff praised the high level of readiness enjoyed by the formations and units of the region in carrying out their tasks and duties with all efficiency and ability. He also acknowledged the great efforts made by all personnel of the region in the various areas of their responsibilities in protecting the nation's capital and defending the security and stability of its borders. As well as his excellency attended the iftar feast alongside several top military commanders and the personnel of the Eastern Military Region Engineering Battalion. Al-Hunaiti received a briefing from the battalion commander regarding the responsibilities and activities performed by the battalion and the efforts made. The commander also provided an update on the most recent plans and operations for the battalion's development and modernization in a way that is appropriate for the nature of its work to achieve the highest levels of readiness and efficiency. In a meeting with the battalion's personnel, the Army Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff expressed his admiration for the battalion's personnel' efficiency, high readiness, professionalism, and great morale in carrying out their assigned duties. He also conveyed to them the greetings and blessings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
