Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaity, met today, Thursday, at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Hideaki Asari.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance military and security cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to addressing a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Major General Al-Hunaity emphasized the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries, commending the support Japan provides to Jordan in various fields, especially in defense and military aspects.

The two sides also discussed prospects for developing cooperation in various fields, exchanging expertise, and conducting joint training.

For his part, the Japanese Ambassador praised the pivotal role Jordan plays in promoting regional stability, reaffirming Japan’s commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership with the Kingdom in security and military fields, in addition to bilateral cooperation within the framework of training and technical programs.

The Japanese Defense Attaché and several senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces attended the meeting.
