The Eastern Military Zone successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics using a drone on Sunday evening, within its area of responsibility along the border.An officer from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces stated: "The Border Guard Forces in the Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics via a drone that attempted to cross the border illegally." He explained that the drone was detected and monitored, and its cargo was intercepted and brought down on Jordanian territory. The seized materials were then handed over to the relevant authorities.He also emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to employ all available resources and capabilities to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling operations, in order to safeguard the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
