On Wednesday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, met with a delegation from the US House of Representatives, headed by Congressman Mike Lawler, at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – the Arab Army.

The meeting, attended by several senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces, reviewed aspects of military and security cooperation between Jordan and the United States, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The two sides also addressed the latest developments in the region, Jordan's efforts in combating terrorism, the role of the Jordan Armed Forces in maintaining security and stability, as well as shared security challenges.

Maj. Gen. Al-Hunaiti emphasized the depth of strategic relations between the two friendly armies, praising the continuous US support for the Jordan Armed Forces in various fields, which enhances defensive and technological capabilities.

For their part, the delegation expressed appreciation for Jordan’s pivotal role in the region, stressing the importance of the partnership between the two countries in addressing security challenges and commending the efforts of the Jordan Army on all fronts.

This meeting comes within the framework of enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchanging perspectives on military affairs and shared interests between the two countries.
