The Initial Planning Conference for Exercise Eager Lion 2026 commenced on Sunday at the Sheraton Hotel in Amman, with the participation of officers from JAF, as well as military and civilian representatives from partner and friendly nations taking part in the exercise.The Head of the Joint Training Branch stated: “Exercise Eager Lion presents an opportunity for all of us to build strong partnerships and share expertise to enhance multinational cooperation.” He encouraged participants to engage in effective communication throughout the conference to foster creative thinking and flexible planning in order to achieve the exercise objectives.The five-day conference aims to discuss key matters related to the participating forces, including force size and composition, and to standardize operational concepts among the participating nations. This contributes to improving the combat readiness of both JAF and the partner forces. Additionally, discussions will cover suitable training locations, logistical support requirements, and the development of the agenda for the Main Planning Conference.Eager Lion 2026 Exercise is scheduled to be conducted in Jordan from 3–14 May 2026. It will mark the twelfth iteration of the exercise since its inception in 2011.
