Medical teams at the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/8 conducted a successful specialized surgical operation yesterday, Sunday, on a 21-year-old patient suffering from an enlarged spleen as a result of anemia (thalassemia).

The commander of the hospital force stated that the medical and nursing staff were able to perform the operation with a high level of efficiency, as part of the hospital’s ongoing efforts to provide advanced medical services to the people of the Gaza Strip despite the challenging and difficult conditions. He explained that the procedure was carried out by a specialized medical team with the participation of anesthesia and operating room staff.

A general surgery specialist indicated that the patient’s condition required urgent surgical intervention due to his reliance on weekly blood transfusions, which led to iron accumulation in the body and affected the heart muscle. The spleen was completely removed after completing all necessary medical procedures, and the operation was successfully completed.

The patient’s family expressed their gratitude and appreciation, commending the humanitarian and medical efforts exerted by the Jordanian field hospital teams in alleviating the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip.
